Accommodation
UPPER DECK Forward is the command bridge/pilothouse, the Captain’s quarters (berth, shower room with WC, separate desk) to port and the radio room to starboard. A Portuguese bridge extends forward and alongside the pilothouse and has wing controls. There is a guest’s flying bridge above this structure. The Boat Deck is amidships and features heavy articulating Schatt electro hydraulic davits. The port davit is used for a Boston Whaler Outrage centre console tender with twin 150hp Johnson outboards. The starboard davit is used for a custom made aluminium Bellecraft catamaran “landing craft” loading 2 Marine Power 280S water jets with a dropping ramp at the bow. Both tenders have Standard Horizon VHF-FM radio telephones and depth sounders. Also stored are 2 Kawasaki Jet skis, 2 mini motorcycles and various diving equipment.

Aft of the Boat Deck is the teak decked Sky Bar and Sun Deck. There is an elongated, curved “L” shaped lounge seat and a full service bar, both of which are housed in a permanent superstructure with fixed side windows and forward facing opening windshields. There is a removable canvas back curtain. This structure provides shelter to those who chose to sit or stand inside, and a windbreak for the Sun Deck even when underway. The Sun Deck and Sky Bar are the obvious gathering places for large or small parties in good weather. It measures about 31’ x 24’ plus a 4½’ deep varnished teak/cushioned lounging aft bench which runs athwart ships from rail to rail. There are also several height adjustable varnished teak coffee tables and deck chairs.

MAIN DECK Furthest forward is a very large crew mess and lounge with its own entrainment centre. Next aft is the galley to port, built to highest quality commercial restaurant standards, complete with all stainless counter tops, walk-in freezer and cold storage room and larder. Opposite to starboard is a full length (inside) for and aft passageway leading first to the mechanical room access door.

The owner’s cabin which runs athwart ships is approximately amidships. These spacious quarters which have large windows on the port side, include a king size bed, desk, vanity, wardrobe and shower room. Further down the passageway, aft of the owner’s cabin, is a stairway down to the lower accommodation, a storage/utility locker, day WC and ultimately the main saloon.

The 18½’ x 28’ Saloon is decorated in finely finished teak and a blend of European hardwoods. There are attractively upholstered sofas and chairs in several distinct and separate seating areas for games, writing, reading, taking in a movie or just relaxing. There are stereo and video systems fitted in the forward bulkhead flanked by book cases port and starboard.

The Aft Deck has the principal dining area and has rigid transparent panels above the rails which hinge up in inclement weather. It is both heated and air conditioned. Double varnished teak doors lead forward to the saloon and doors port and starboard lead to the full length outside fore and aft covered side decks. The oval, varnished dining table has two additional leaves enabling up to 14 to sit.

LOWER DECK Situated aft is guest accommodation for up to 16 in 6 staterooms, each with ensuite facilities, accessed by two stairways. The aft two ensuite staterooms are full width, one with a Queen size double bed and the other is twin bedded with side by side beds. These cabins are access by stairs from the saloon. Forward of these, at the base of the forward stairs, are two twin bedded cabins each bed having a Pullman berth over. Next forward are two twin bedded cabins on either side of the centreline corridor which leads to the forward stairs.

Crew of up to 14 is accommodated forward in 8 cabins.

Engines
2 x 960hp Caterpillar 3508 turbo charged after cooled at 1800rpm (new 2000) through 2 ZF – BW365 gear boxes with 3.080 : 1 reduction (1999) to 2 Rice ABS64 Bronze 54” x 41” five bladed, skewed .75 DAR Nautilus propellers.

Engines on Lo-Res resilient engine mounts with Centra flexible couplings between engines and gears. Gears mounted to shafts with rigid couplings. New Crane mechanical shaft seals were incorporated during the most recent refit.

Engine cooling is via engine driven water pumps and Alfa Laval titanium plate keel coolers. Gears and shaft seals are also water cooled from engine water pumps.

Engines air started by compressor and a pressure regulator to 135 lbs. Kobelt electronic engine controls at 4 stations. Engine room, bridge and 2 bridge wing positions.

Cruising 13 knots at 1650rpm using 80 US gallons per hour. Range in excess of 5,000 miles at 12.5 – 13 knots

2 Caterpillar 3306 generators 165kVa at 440v, 3 phase, 60Hz 1 GM3 – 71, 50 kVa Transformers can provide 110v or 220v throughout the yacht

Saunders Roe retractable fin type stabilisers. Hydraulic retraction/extension by Muirhead gyro activator. Hydraulic system electrically powered and not dependent on main engine, thus can be used at anchor as well as underway.

Freon 22 chilled water system throughout to individual air handler units throughout the yacht. Dual chiller systems, Carrier 5F40 compressor driven by external electric motor with 18 tons capacity and 3 hermetically sealed scroll compressors of 5 tons each.

Matrix Desalination watermaker, electrically driven. 2,000 US gallons per day

Air is used for main engine starting, stabiliser accumulator charging, yacht’s whistle and air tools. There are 2 separate electrically driven compressors and 2 air receivers each operating at 250 psi. There regulators on each engine which reduce pressure to the starters to 135 psi

Oily water separation. With its pickup in the main bilge, this system is a Heli-Sep by World Water Systems which filters bilge water before discharge and deposits any oil residue in a special waster oil tank fitted with an international connection. IMO approved and the yacht has a current MARPOL certificate.

FUEL / USED OIL BLENDER By Alfa Laval, this systems blends small proportions of used engine oil with fuel so that it is burned efficiently rather than disposed of separately.

FUEL TRANSFER PUMPS. 2 Large fuel storage tanks with a total capacity of 37,000 gallons. Both main engines and 3 generators run off day tanks. There are 3 electric pumps fitted for transferring fuel from the storage tanks to the day tanks or for transferring fuel from one storage tank to the other in order to adjust trim of the yacht.
