Eastern Coast USA
Passing along Long
Island, there are numerous yacht
clubs such as Larchmont, Stamford
and Indian Harbour. Continue and
you'll start to discuss the legends
of the scene: Essex, Mystic,
Newport, Nantucket, Camden, Bar
Harbour. All have magnetic
properties to lure you in for a
drink, a meal, a museum, a regatta,
or all four.
Martha's Vineyard has
superb anchorages and Edgartown, in
particular, has top class
restaurants such as Little and
Charlotte Inn. Vineyard Haven, where
the Black Dog Tavern draws in the
crowds, is a friendly, low-key
place. Wide, sandy beaches and
quaint oldie world buildings make
the island an attractive stopover.
Sailing further north
you can either navigate through the
Cape Cod canal or round the point
towards Maine. Either way you'll
pass some of the most impressive
mansions on the coast.
Thousands of small
islands and coves pebbledash the
cruise from now on. Pass by Boston,
a city of great interest and
attraction, and investigate places
that your yacht gives you a
particular advantage to discover.
Tiny inlets, pristine
clean and clear, and immaculate
small towns such as Camden and
Rockport. Sail through Penobscote
Bay and prepare yourself for the
impending glory of Arcadia National
Park.
If you're here in
Autumn, the trees on Mount Desert
Island become a vision of vermilion,
scarlet, russet, crimson, copper,
gold, ochre and orange. A sight
captured in a minute, a memory that
lasts forever
